Overview
Wacko Golf was born from the question; “I wonder what it would be like to switch the 1st and 6th holes?”. The first few events were carefully thought out and mapped by Bob Richardson and Chris Blum. Since then we have developed an anything goes approach. Using playing cards, Ace through 9 in black are the holes, Ace through Queen are the Tees (A few alternate tee locations are added in). The cards are shuffled and dealt out. We play whatever comes up. The results can be interesting, challenging or just plain stupid but it’s always fun.
Rules
- Wacko Golf is usually played individually during the regular Sunday @ 1:00 outing.
- A Hole in one flag will only be awarded for holes that are at least 84 yards long.
- For safety reasons, balls will not be hit across the road.
- If the #7 tee is selected to hit to any hole other than 7 or 8 then the tee will be moved to number 9
- Balls played from the main course to 7 or 8 must be hit past the flag on #1 and then picked up and placed on the other side of the road around the 7th tee.
- Balls played from the #8 tee must be hit past the flag on #8 and picked up and placed near the bird pole in the #1 fairway.
- The ball does not need to land on the green or pass the flag on the green, just an imaginary line parallel to the road even with the flag stick.
- There is no stroke penalty for picking up the ball to cross the street.
- A Ball hit across the street will be considered out of bounds and a 1 stroke penalty will be applied.
